Jennifer is a poet from Singapore who although she has been writing for a limited time, has developed a very experimental type of writing. She writes in a graphic layout often including patterns fit for randomized readings. (She confided that she had done a poem, in the shape of a DINOSAUR). This time the tables are turned and Mircea Dan Duta from Romania interviews American poet Rick Spisak. We learn some of his early formative experiences and he recites his very first poem. We learn a little about his interests in Lasers, Neurology,and Anthropology. And some of his first poetic mystical experiences. POETS of the East, presents two extraordinary poets Emily Cordes, and Marianne Tefft. Emily is an actress, artist, poet coming to us from NY/NY she discusses her art, her poetry and some of her influences. And she shares several of her lovely poems.
Then we speak with Marianne Tefft, poet, educator, and dancer from the Island of Sint Maarten in the Caribbean. She has worked in Journalism, and as an educator. She tells us a little about herself, then she shares some of her amazing delicate tropical poetry. These two fine poets are just exquisite examples of contemporary poets. Nayma Chamchoun is a self-taught writer and poet. Her writing is influenced by her cultural duality. She is interested in female voices in the diaspora community, and the challenges they face within both communities and the taboos around mental health within their ancestral communities. Her poetry collection COVID: THE WORDY WILDS OF A MIND UNDER LOCKDOWN is being published on October 3. Get your Copy! She is an active member of London's vibrant Poetry Community & the international poetry community online. She has performed her work at several Poetry Open Mike events including the Grenfell 5 year Anniversary event & her work has been featured in BBC Radio London.
Diane is a wonderful bright and creative since childhood. She has made of life counseling, helping young people, and become an international literary figure a poet recognized across the globe She is as recognized in the ancient cities of Europe and Asia as well as across the Americas. Listen to her Story and her poetry. Our second guest in this episode is Dominic Windram another international poet comfortable in salons across Europe and the Americas. Dominic is a lifelong educator and has been published in several international magazines and has dedicated himself to always improving his very thought provoking poetry. Dominic has always been a very spiritual author and treats regularly societal issues and brings a depth of study rarely seen. I'm sure you'll find his work rewarding and thought-provoking.
POETS of the EAST: This final episode of the SUMMER of 2022 our visit with Nayma Chamchoun and DA "Roarshock" Wilson.
Each an exquisite poet, with a different melodic voice and sensibility. Nayma's work is deeply heartfelt and resonates with warm humanity that is charming and breathtaking.
Roarshock has a dry, wry sensibility and not only addresses a range of contemporary issues but when he reaches into his metaphorical bag of tricks he might reference a Jerry Garcia or a WC Fields. Or he might turn to technology or the famed Frisco Beat pantheon.
